Matheus Ferreira de Barros is a professor and researcher at UFRJ and UENF, working interdisciplinarily across philosophy, technology, energy, and quantitative methods. His academic work focuses particularly on the relationships between technology, society, and contemporary technological transformations.
Matheus Ferreira de Barros is a professor at the Polytechnic Institute of UFRJ and a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Climate and Energy at UENF. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from PUC-Rio, as well as master’s degrees in Philosophy and Metrology, and a bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from UFF. His interdisciplinary work spans philosophy of technology, operations research, renewable energy, and quantitative model analysis. He also has international experience as a visiting researcher at Radboud Universiteit in the Netherlands. His academic work particularly explores the relationships between technology, society, and technical development, as well as topics related to the Anthropocene, energy, and the impacts of technological transformations on the contemporary world.
